Ingredient
600g turnips
450g beef brisket
75g peanuts
1/3 quarter dried tangerine peel
4 red dates
3 slices ginger
salt a pinch
Sauce
Dipping Sauce:
Light soy sauce as desired
Cooked oil as desired
Method
Cut fat from beef brisket. Blanch in boiled water for 5 minutes. Remove and rinse.
Peel and wash turnips. Cut into pieces. Wash peanuts. Wash and core red dates. Soak dried tangerine peel until it is tender and remove pith.
Bring suitable amount of water to the boil with dried tangerine peel. Add all ingredients. Boil for 10 minutes. Turn to low heat and cook for 2 1/2 hours until beef brisket is tender. Leave to cool. Cut into pieces. Serve with dipping sauce. Season soup with salt. Serve.
